5 ways to differentiate used forklifts

5 ways to differentiate used forklifts

The used forklift trucks are great allies for lifting and material handling tasks. Depending on the work to be carried out, there are different forklift trucks: diesel or battery, industrial or construction site, 4×2 or 4×4, which adapt to the different requirements.

In the following, we will address 5 paragraphs in which we tell you the characteristics that differentiate one forklift truck from another and the most outstanding models.

Used forklift trucks according to terrain

Diesel forklift trucks

On the second-hand market you will find diesel forklift trucks which, as they use diesel fuel, do not require charging time to start up. These trucks are perfect for outdoor work, due to the autonomy they provide.

Battery-powered forklifts

On the other hand, the battery-powered wheelbarrows are suitable for indoor work, such as warehouses or industrial buildings, as they require electricity to operate. The main advantage of having electric forklift trucks such as the ME320 is the zero exhaust emissions and the stability provided by the low wheel height.

Depending on the work to be carried out

Construction forklift

This type of forklift truck is ideal for transporting specific and bulky loads whatever the terrain. Our forklifts MSI o MC are machines semi-industrial that work perfectly well in such circumstances.

Industrial truck

Industrial trucks are efficient and robust models, thanks to their monobloc chassis and reinforced axles, they become machines capable of working indoors and outdoors. They are suitable to meet the needs of all industrial sectors.

Depending on the traction

Depending on the type of forklift truck traction, we can distinguish between 4×2 forklift trucks o 4×4 forklifts.

4×4 vehicles are distinguished by their four-wheel drive, which means that power is distributed to all four tyres, which are usually larger and stronger.

The 4×2 drive only sends power to two wheels, which means less weight and easier truck set-up and operation.

According to load capacity

Load capacity is the weight that a forklift truck can lift. This varies depending on the model, and can range from 1,500 kg to 20,000 kg.

In our second-hand fleet we have forklift trucks with a load capacity of 1,800 kg, 2,000 kg as the Manitou MSI20 or up to 2,500 kg as the MSI25.

Depending on the loading height

Depending on their loading height, forklift trucks can be found in the following categories duplex mast with free liftideal for spaces with reduced heights, as their claws go up without increasing the full size of the mast, or triplexwhich allows a higher lifting of the loads.

In order to be able to work in spaces with limited height, forklift trucks are available. buggyas the MSI25 buggy whose overall height with the mast retracted is less than 2 metres.

It should be noted that all of our used forklift trucksDespite being registered, they do not need to pass the ITV technical inspection because they are machines that do not exceed 25 km/h.
